The basic scanning process using a TWAIN-compliant application involves the following procedures:

Scanning reflective documents

You need to perform the following procedure to scan reflective documents on your scanner using a TWAIN-compliant application.

Place a document on the scanner. See Placing a Document on the Scanner for details.

Start a TWAIN-compliant application. See TWAIN-compliant applications for details.

In the application, open EPSON TWAIN 5.

Full Auto mode: EPSON TWAIN automatically previews the images and recognizes the document source and type. Images are automatically optimized and scanned. See Using the Full Auto Mode for details.

Manual mode:
Make basic settings, optimize images manually and click Scan. See Overview of Scanning Procedure in the Manual Mode for details.

Save the scanned images. See Saving a scanned image for details.

Scanning transparent materials

You need to perform the following procedure to scan transparent materials using the Film Adapter and the integrated TPU.

For Perfection 1260 Photo users: Install the Film Adapter. See Installing the Film Adapter for details.

For Perfection 1660 Photo and 2400 Photo users:
Remove the reflective document mat from the integrated TPU. See Removing the reflective document mat for details.

Load a slide or film into the film holder and set it on the document table. For Perfection 1260 Photo users, see Loading slides and film for details. For Perfection 1660 Photo and 2400 Photo users, see Loading slides and film for details.

Start a TWAIN-compliant application. See TWAIN-compliant applications for details.

In the application, open EPSON TWAIN 5.
