Basic Scanning / Scanning an Image
Scanning reflective documents
Scanning transparent materials
The basic scanning process using a TWAIN-compliant application involves the following procedures:
| Place a document on the scanner. See Placing a Document on the Scanner for details. |
| Start a TWAIN-compliant application. See About TWAIN-compliant applications for details. |
| In the application, open EPSON TWAIN 5 using a command such as Acquire. |

Full Auto mode: EPSON TWAIN automatically previews the images, and recognizes the document source and type. Images are automatically optimized and scanned. See Scanning from the Full Auto Mode for details. |
Manual mode:
Make basic settings, optimize images manually and click Scan. See Overview of the Manual Mode Window for details.
| Save the scanned images. See Saving a Scanned Image for details. |
| Install the Film Adapter if it is required. For Perfection 1250 users, see Installing the Film Adapter. For Perfection 1650 users, see Installing the Film Adapter for details. |
| Load a slide or film into the film holder and set it with the Film Adapter. For Perfection 1250 users, see Loading a film or a slide. For Perfection 1650 Photo users, see Loading a film or slides. For Perfection 1650 users, see Loading a film or slides. |
