Options for high-volume printing

The following options are available for high-volume printing.

Note:

The asterisk () is a substitute for the last digit of the product number, which varies by country.

The Multibin Unit (C81305) can be used as a mailbox, a sorter, a multiple sorter, or a large capacity stacker and can hold up to 1000 printed sheets. Output capacity is halved when using A3 paper and is limited to 2010 sheets without stapling. The Large Capacity Paper Unit must be installed when attaching the optional Multibin Unit. It cannot be installed at the same time as the Finisher Stapler. The Multibin Unit supports the following paper sizes:

A3, A4, B4, B5, Ledger, Legal, Government Legal, Letter, Half Letter, Government Letter, Executive, F4

The Finisher Stapler (C81327) is a 3-tray stacker with staple function and can hold up to 1800 sheets of A4 or Letter size paper with staples or 2010 sheets without staples. Output capacity is halved when using A3 paper. The Large Capacity Paper Unit must be installed when attaching the optional Finisher Stapler. However, it cannot be installed at the same time as the Multibin Unit. The Finisher Stapler supports the following paper sizes:

A3, A4, A5, B4, B5, Ledger, Legal, Government Legal, Letter, Half Letter, Executive, F4

The Hard Disk Drive (C82377) allows you to print complex and large print jobs at high speed. Fonts installed from the optional Adobe PostScript 3 require 1 GB of memory on the Hard Disk Drive. We recommend using this option when using the optional Finisher Stapler.

The Large Capacity Paper Unit (C81303) fits directly beneath the printer and increases paper feeding capacity for most sizes of paper up to A3. This unit has three cassettes allowing you to load a total of 2500 sheets, and is useful for loading paper you use often and in large amounts. The paper size for cassettes four and five is pre-set, and A3 size paper can only be loaded from cassette three. The 2500 sheet capacity is limited to A4, letter or smaller size paper. The Large Capacity Paper Unit supports the following paper sizes:

Lower cassette 3

A3, A4, Ledger, Legal, Government Legal, Letter, Executive

Lower cassette 4 or 5

A4, Letter, Executive

To the optional Multibin Unit

This optional output unit can be used as a mailbox, sorter, multiple sorter, or large capacity stacker. When you specify Stacker mode in the printer driver or SelecType mode, this unit's bins can function as additional output trays in combination with the standard face-down tray. This combination allows you to print 1500 sheets in total.

Note:

To subsequently output to the face-down tray, set Stacker to +Face-down in the SelecType Setup menu.

Consult your administrator to set the Stacker mode.

The Offset Stacking mode is not available with the Multibin Unit.

To avoid mixing print jobs, remove all printed sheets from every bin after you print a print job in the stacker mode.

To the optional Finisher Stapler

This optional Finisher Stapler is a 3-tray stacker with staple function and can hold up to 1800 sheets of paper. The capacity of the three trays without stapling is up to 670 sheets each for A4 size paper and up to 300 sheets for A3 size paper.

You can direct output to the face-down tray when the three trays become full by setting Stacker in the Printing Menu to +Face-down.

To use the Finisher Stapler, set Out Bin to Stacker in SelecType or the printer driver.
