Using the Multi Photo Feeder

Document conditions
Check the following items before feeding a document:

The document has no dust on both sides.
-
Ink on the document is dry.
-
The document is not too dark.
-
The document has no holes, is not ripped or wrinkled, and has nothing attached to it.

The document has no staples or other objects attached that may damage the feeder mechanism.
-
The document has no folds closer than 5 mm to its edges.
-
The document is not a multi-part form or a bound document.
-
The document has no rear carbon coating.
-
The document has no cut-out areas.
-
The document is 0.2 to 0.34 mm thick.
-
The document is not ink jet printed.
-
The document is not a photograph taken by a Polaroid camera.
-
The document is not a panoramic photograph.

We recommend that you use documents bigger than 50 x 82 mm but smaller than 102 x 152 mm. If you have documents smaller than 50 x 82 mm size, you can load the documents by placing them along the left side of the guide.

If you want to scan these documents, we recommend that you uninstall the Multi Photo Feeder and scan the documents individually. For details on how to uninstall the Multi Photo Feeder see, Uninstalling the Multi Photo Feeder.

Other precautions
Do not feed photographic sheets or particularly valuable original artwork into this Multi Photo Feeder; mis-feeding a document may result in accidental wrinkling or damage.
When you are scanning high-quality color or halftone documents, we recommend that you open the Multi Photo Feeder and scan the documents individually. See Uninstalling the Multi Photo Feeder for details.
