Duplex Unit
Installing
Removing
This unit allows you to print on both sides of paper automatically.
Installing
To install the unit, follow the instructions below.
Before installing
 |
Turn off the printer.

Unplug the printer's power cord from the electrical outlet.
|
 |
Remove all interface cables from the interface connectors.
|
 |
Unpack the Duplex Unit and remove all protective materials.
|

Caution:

Open the inner tray and remove the protective insert; otherwise, the printer will not work properly.
|
Installing
|
|
Lift the Duplex Unit with both hands, and face the left side of the printer.
|
|
|
Lower the unit to insert the two matching hooks into the slots in the MP tray's holder. Attach the hooks to the corresponding mounting rods.
|
|
|
Attach the second hook on the right side to the rod until you hear a click.
|
|
|
Grasp the strap on the left side of the unit and insert the hook at the end of the strap into the slot as shown below.

Close the Duplex Unit until it clicks.
|
 |
After removing the protective cover from the cord, plug the cord of the Duplex Unit into the appropriate connector at the back of the printer.

After installing
|
|
Reconnect any interface cables you removed.
|
|
|
Make sure the printer is turned off. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
|
|
|
Turn on the printer.
|
To confirm that the Duplex Unit is installed correctly, print a status sheet. If the unit is not listed on the status sheet, make sure the cable connecting the Duplex Unit to the printer is connected securely.

Note:

Store the packaging materials in case you want to ship the Duplex Unit in the future.

Removing
To remove the Duplex Unit, follow the instructions below.
Before removing

|
Turn off the printer.
|
|
|
Unplug the printer's power cord from the electrical outlet.
|
|
|
Remove all interface cables from the interface connectors.
|
Removing
|
|
Unplug the cord of Duplex Unit from its connector.
|
|
|
Open the unit's DM cover by pulling up its lever.
|
|
|
After completely opening the cover, lift it up slightly.
|
|
|
Unhook the hook at the end of the strap and fold it into the Duplex Unit.
|
|
|
While lifting the unit, unhook the upper right hook as shown below.
|
|
|
Lift up the Duplex Unit with both hands.
|
After removing
|
|
Reconnect any interface cables you removed.
|
|
|
Make sure the printer is turned off. Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.
|
|
|
Turn on the printer.
