Replacing a toner cartridge

According to the message on the LCD panel or on the window of the EPSON Status Monitor 3 utility, replace the correct toner cartridge from the list below:

Handling precautions

Always pay attention to the following handling precautions before replacing toner cartridges:

• Do not install used toner cartridges into the printer.

• Wait for at least one hour before installing a toner cartridge after moving it from a cool to a warm environment to prevent damage from condensation.

Warning:

Do not touch the toner. Keep the toner away from your eyes. If toner gets on your skin or clothes, wash it off with soap and water immediately.

Keep toner cartridges out of the reach of children.

Do not dispose of used toner cartridges in fire, as they may explode and cause injury. Dispose of them according to local regulations.

Replacing a toner cartridge

Follow these steps to replace a toner cartridge.

Confirm the color of the toner cartridge that needs to be replaced by checking the LCD panel.

Open the front cover.

Check the color of the toner cartridge that appears in the cartridge installment window.

If you see the color that you need to replace, go to step 5.

If you see a different color, go to the next step.

Push up the switch, then release it. Turn the knob until it stops. Repeat these steps until you see the color that you need to replace.

Note:

If the knob cannot be moved, first check that the switch is in the upper position. Do not turn the knob by force.

Turn the cartridge knob as shown below.

Pull the toner cartridge out of the slot.

Take the new toner cartridge out of its package, and gently shake it as shown below.

Insert the toner cartridge all the way until it stops.

Turn the cartridge knob as shown below.

Caution:

Be sure to turn the knob all the way to the locked position. Otherwise, you may have toner problems or leakage.

If you need to replace another toner cartridge, repeat steps 3 to 9.

Close the front cover.
