Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Using the Stand to Hold the Scanner
You can use the stand to hold the scanner. Before standing the scanner, you need to lock the scanner's carriage to prevent any damage. Follow the steps below.
Plug in the scanner and wait until the carriage moves to the home position (position closest to the cover hinges). While the carriage lamp remains on, unplug the power cord.
Disconnect the AC adapter from the DC inlet, and then slide the transportation lock to the left.
Push the scanner straight down on the stand until it sets into place.
Caution:
| -
Make sure the stand's rib is directly under the clips on the scanner before pushing it down into place; otherwise damage may occur.
| -
When placing the scanner on the stand, do not subject the scanner to shock such as pushing it away from the stand; otherwise damage may occur.
| -
Do not use the scanner when it is placed on the stand.
