Lights
Buttons

The scanner provides four buttons for scanner operations. The Start button also lights up to indicate the scanner's status.

Note:

Most illustrations shown in this section are for the Perfection 2480 Photo, so they may be different in appearance from the Perfection 2580 Photo. The instructions are the same, except as noted.

Lights

Light	Color	Indicator Status	Meaning
indicator	Green	On	Ready to scan images.
	Green	Flashing	Initializing or busy scanning.
	Red	Flashing	An error has occurred. See Error Indicator for more information.
	(None)	Off	The scanner is off.

Buttons

Button	Function
Start	Scans and sends the captured image to an assigned application in a single step. Before using this feature, make sure you have installed EPSON Scan and EPSON Smart Panel software. See Use the Start button on the scanner for more details.
Copy	Scans and sends the captured image to the Copy utility in EPSON Smart Panel. Before using this feature, make sure you have installed EPSON Scan and EPSON Smart Panel. See Use the Copy button on the scanner for more details.
Scan to E-mail	Scans and sends an e-mail message with the scanned image attached. Before using this feature, make sure you have installed EPSON Scan and EPSON Smart Panel. See Use the Scan to E-mail button on the scanner for more details.
Scan and Save	Scans an image and then save it to the specified File. Pressing the Scan and Save button on the scanner starts the scanning process and transfers the scanned image to the specified File. See Use the Scan and Save button on the scanner for more details.
