Installing

To install the Large Capacity Paper Unit, follow the instructions below.

Before installing

Turn off the printer.

Unplug the printer's power cord from the electrical outlet.

Installing the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit

You can install up to two optional Large Capacity Paper Units to your printer.

Carefully remove the Large Capacity Paper Unit from its carton and place it on the floor or a flat stable surface. Then, remove the packing tape used to secure the paper cassette in place.

Note:
A plastic bag containing three screws is taped to the top of each unit. Make sure to remove and use these screws to attach it to the printer or another unit.

If you are installing two units, remove the other unit from its carton, and carefully lower it onto the bottom unit. Make sure that the pins and electronic connector are properly aligned.

Make sure all corners of the upper unit fit securely onto the bottom unit. Remove the paper cassette from the upper unit. Then, insert and tighten the three screws as shown below.

Reinstall the paper cassette in to the upper unit.

Lift the printer and carefully place it on the Large Capacity Paper Unit. Make sure that the pins and electronic connector are properly aligned.

Caution:
  • The printer weighs about 26 kg (57.4 lb). Always lift it with two or more people.
  • Grasp the printer at the locations indicated above.

Remove the standard lower cassette from the printer. Insert and tighten the screws in the locations shown below.

Reinstall the paper cassette into the upper unit.

Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet.

Turn on the printer.

Removing

To remove the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit, follow the instructions below.

Before removing

Turn off the printer.

Unplug the printer's power cord from the electrical outlet.

Removing the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit

Pull the standard lower cassette out of the printer.

Remove the three screws that connect the printer to the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit, as shown below.

Reinstall the standard lower cassette in to the printer.

Carefully lift the printer off the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit with two or more people and place it on a flat stable surface.

Caution:
  • The printer weighs about 26 kg (57.4 lb). Always lift it with two or more people.
  • Grasp the printer at the locations indicated above.

If you have installed two units, pull the paper cassette out of the upper unit. Remove the three screws that connect the two units.

Replace the paper cassettes into the printer and the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit.

Repack the optional Large Capacity Paper Unit in its original carton.

Place the printer on a flat steady surface.

After removing

Make sure the printer is turned off.

Plug the printer's power cord into an electrical outlet

Turn on the printer.
