Using the Control Panel / Using Advanced Copy Modes

Using the Split Pages Mode

The Split Pages mode allows you to copy two facing pages of a bound document onto separate sheets of paper, as shown below.

Note:
This mode cannot be used with the Join Pages mode.

Place the open document face down on the document table with the fold separating the two pages perpendicular to the horizontal ruler.

Note:
The fold separating the two facing pages of an open document must always be perpendicular to the horizontal ruler when using the Split Pages mode.

Press the Split Pages button on the Select Advanced Mode screen.

Note:
If no button is pressed for more than 1 minute when in Split Pages mode, any changes made are canceled and the Ready to Copy screen appears with the original settings preserved.

The following screen appears if Split Pages is already set. Press the Setup button and go on to the next step.

Note:
  • Press the Clear button to clear the original setting.
  • Press the Exit button to exit this setting. The Ready to Copy screen appears.

Select the document size that matches the total size of the open document.

Note:
When using the Split Pages mode in combination with the Remove Shadows mode, the document size settings in the Remove Shadows mode are automatically applied to the Split Pages mode.

Select a paper source.

The size of each facing page of the original document will be automatically reduced or enlarged to fit onto the selected paper, as shown in the table below:
