Printer Parts

a. Paper support extension: Extends the paper support to support large sheets, such as A3, loaded into the sheet feeder.

b. Top printer cover: Covers the printing mechanism. Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges, or when checking that roll paper or single sheets are feeding correctly.

c. Front printer cover: Covers the front manual feed slot. Open only when printing on thick paper.

d. Output tray extension: Extends the output tray to support large sheets of paper, such as A3.

e. Output tray: Receives the ejected paper.

f. Roll paper support: Supports roll paper as it is ejected from the printer.

g. Edge guides: Help to load the paper straight into the printer. Adjust the left edge guide to fit the width of your paper.

h. Paper support: Supports the paper loaded in the sheet feeder.

a. Rear edge guide: Helps load roll paper or single sheets of paper straight into the rear manual feed slot.

b. Rear manual feed slot: Holds the roll paper or single sheets of paper. Automatically feeds the roll paper or single sheets of paper after holding it in place with your hand for three seconds.

c. USB interface cable connector: Used to connect the USB cable to the computer and the printer.

d. IEEE 1394 interface cable connector: Used to connect the IEEE cable to the computer and the printer.

e. Roll paper holder: Attaches to the printer and holds the roll paper.

f. Roll paper knob: Turn to roll up the roll paper.

a. Cartridge cover: Holds the ink cartridges in place. Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges.

b. Print head: Delivers ink to the page.

c. Control panel: Controls various printer functions. See the next section for details.

d. Front manual feed slot: Holds and feeds thick paper. Use only when printing on thick paper.

e. Front edge guide: Keeps the thick paper aligned as it feeds into the front sheet feeder.

f.Ink out light: Indicates when an ink cartridge is empty or nearly empty.

Turns the printer on and off.

paper

Loads or ejects paper.

Resumes printing if pressed after a paper out error or double feed error.

Cancels the printing of a print job if pressed while printing.

ink

Moves the print head to the ink cartridge replacement position.

Move the print head to the ink check position when an empty ink cartridge is detected.

Returns the print head to its home position after ink cartridge replacement.

Performs print head cleaning if held down for three seconds when the  ink out light is off.

roll paper

Prints a cutting guideline and feeds roll paper to a position where it can be easily removed from the sheet feeder if pressed after printing.

Feeds roll paper to the printing position if pressed after cutting the paper.

Feeds roll paper in reverse to a position where it can be easily removed from the roll paper feeder if pressed for 3 seconds.

On when the printer is on.

Flashing when the printer is receiving data, printing, having an ink cartridge replaced, charging ink, or cleaning the print head.

paper out

On when the printer is out of paper.

Flashing when the paper tray is jammed, or when the output tray is in an incorrect position.

Flashing when paper is not fed straight into the rear manual feed slot.

ink error

On when an ink cartridge is empty or not installed.

Flashing when an ink cartridge is nearly empty, or when the wrong color ink cartridge is installed.

ink out

On when an ink cartridge is empty or not installed.

Flashing when an ink cartridge is nearly empty.
