Duplex Unit

The following table summarizes the paper types and sizes that you can use with the Duplex Unit.

A4, A5, B5, LT, HLT, LGL, EXE, GLG, GLT, F4

Follow these steps to install the optional Duplex Unit.

Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord and interface cable.

Caution:
Make sure to unplug the power cord from the printer to prevent getting an electrical shock.

Remove the duplex unit connector cover. Then, pinch the two hooks on the option cover to remove it from cover B.

Note:
Keep the duplex unit connector cover in a safe place prevent to lose.

Install the Duplex Unit as shown below. Make sure that the unit hooks onto the printer's tabs and the duplex connector goes into the slot.

Secure the unit with the two screws provided.

Reconnect the interface cable and power cord, then turn the printer on.

To confirm that the option is installed correctly, print a Status Sheet. See Printing a Status Sheet.

Note:
If you are using Windows, and EPSON Status Monitor 3 is not installed, you have to make settings manually in the printer driver. Click the Update the Printer Option Information Manually button on the Optional Settings menu, then click Settings. Then select the Duplex Print Unit check box in the Optional Settings dialog box and click OK.

Removing the Duplex Unit

Follow these steps to remove the optional Duplex Unit.

Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord and interface cable.

Loosen the two screws on the lower sides of the Duplex Unit.

Press the unlock button to unlock the hooks, then remove the unit from the printer.

Attach the option cover to cover B.

Reconnect the interface cable and power cord, then turn the printer on.
