System Requirements and Compatibility

Make sure that your system meets the following requirements and check the compatibility.

For Windows PCs

For Windows and USB 2.0 users

System

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition/XP Professional/2000 Professional
(Pre-installed model or upgrade of Windows 2000 Professional pre-installed model)

Note:
USB2.0 Host Driver by Microsoft is required.

Interface

USB port (TYPE A receptacle) on PC

Display

SVGA or higher resolution monitor 800 x 600 screen resolution or higher and 16 bit (High Color)

USB 2.0 is backwards compatible with USB 1.1.

For Windows and USB 1.1 users

Note:
This system operates only when the USB interface is used in full speed mode.

For Mac OS X computers

Note:
This software does not support the UNIX File System (UFS) for Mac OS X. Install the software on a disk or in a partition that does not use UFS.

For Mac OS X computers and USB 2.0 users

Mac OS® X 10.2.7 or later

Note:
SilverFast® works independently or only with Adobe® Photoshop® 7.0 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 on Mac OS X native mode.

Make sure FireWire 2.1 or later is installed on your computer system. Download FireWire's update file from the website of Apple Computer, Inc, and then install it on your computer.
