Transporting the Scanner

Before transporting the scanner over a long distance or storing it for an extended period of time, you need to lock the scanner's carriage to prevent damage. Follow the procedure below.

Plug in the scanner and connect the scanner to the computer, and then wait until the carriage moves to the home position (position nearest the buttons). While the indicator light remains on (green), unplug the scanner.

If the cover cable is attached, disconnect it.

Turn the transportation lock to the locked position to secure the carriage.

The transportation lock is located on the bottom of the scanner on the right side. To lock it, lift the scanner straight up and then slide the lock to the locked position.

Caution:

Do not turn the scanner over; this may damage the scanner.

Attach the protective materials and repack the scanner in its original box.
