Before installing the scanner software, make sure that your system meets the following requirements.

For PCs

System

Pre-installed Microsoft^® Windows^® Me, or upgraded from pre-installed Windows 98,
Pre-installed Windows 98,
Pre-installed Windows XP, or upgraded from pre-installed Windows 98 or later,
Pre-installed Windows 2000, or upgraded from pre-installed Windows 98

Interface

USB port (TYPE A receptacle)

Display

VGA or higher resolution monitor 640 x 480 screen resolution (800 x 600 or higher recommended), and 65,000 color (or higher)

Note:
Color and tone reproduction are subject to the display capability of your computer system, including the video card, display monitor, and software. See the product documentation for details.

For Macintosh computers

System

USB-equipped Macintosh^® with Mac^® OS 8.6 to 9.x, or Mac OS X version 10.1.2 or later

Note for Mac OS X users:
You can use the scanner only in the Classic mode.
If you are using a version earlier than 10.1.2, switch to Mac OS 9 to use the scanner.

Display

Color Monitor, 640 x 480 screen resolution (or higher recommended), and 32,000 color (or higher)
