Upgrading your OS

Uninstalling EPSON TWAIN

If you are using a scanner and are planning to upgrade your system, follow the instructions below.

If EPSON TWAIN is already installed, you need to uninstall it, upgrade the system, and then re-install EPSON TWAIN, as follows:

Uninstall EPSON TWAIN before upgrading your system. See Uninstalling EPSON TWAIN.

After uninstalling EPSON TWAIN, turn off the computer, and make sure the scanner is unplugged and disconnected from the computer.

Turn on the computer and upgrade the system.

Make sure that the system is upgraded correctly, and then shut down your computer.

Start your computer and install EPSON TWAIN. To install EPSON TWAIN, see the Setup Sheet.

Note:
To connect your scanner using the USB interface, make sure your computer has Windows  Millennium Edition, 98, XP, or 2000 pre-installed.

Uninstalling EPSON TWAIN

Follow the steps below to uninstall EPSON TWAIN.

Note:
You can also uninstall EPSON TWAIN from the EPSON Installation Program dialog box. To view the dialog box, insert the scanner software CD in the CD-ROM drive.

Unplug the scanner and disconnect the scanner from the computer.

In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon (for Windows Me, 98, or 2000 users) or the Add or Remove Programs icon (for Windows XP users).

Select EPSON TWAIN 5 from the list, then click Add/Remove (for Windows Me or 98 users) or Change/Remove (for Windows XP or 2000 users).

A confirming dialog box appears. Click Yes.

The Setup dialog box appears. Click Next.

Click Finish to complete the uninstallation. In some cases, a message may appear to prompt you to restart the computer; make sure Yes, I want to restart my computer now is selected and then click Finish.
