500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3

Note:
Load paper with the printable surface facing up.

Handling precautions

Always pay attention to the following handling precautions before installing the paper cassette unit.

Warning:
If you lift the printer incorrectly, you could drop it and cause injury.

Installing the 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3

You can install up to three optional paper cassette units onto the printer.

Follow these steps to install the optional paper cassette unit:

Turn the printer off and unplug the power cord and interface cables.

Caution:
Make sure to unplug the power cord from the printer to prevent getting an electrical shock.

Carefully remove the 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3 from its carton.

Note:
  • Make sure you have the four screws packed with the optional cassette unit.
  • Remove the protective materials from the unit.
  • Keep all protective materials in case you want to ship the unit in the future.

Place the 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3 at the intended location of the printer, and then place the printer gently onto the unit so that the pins on top of the unit fit into the holes on the bottom of the printer.

Fasten the back of the 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3 to the printer with two of the provided screws and the two metal parts, as shown below.

Note:
Use a coin to tighten the screws.

Remove the paper cassette from the printer, and secure the front of the unit to the printer with the remaining two screws, as shown below.

Note:
If you are installing multiple units, joint all units and the printer securely in the same manner.

Reinsert the paper cassette into the printer.

Reconnect all interface cables and the power cord.

Plug the printer's power cord into an electrical outlet.

Turn on the printer.

To confirm that the option is installed correctly, print a Status Sheet. See Printing a Status Sheet.

Note:
If you are using Windows, and EPSON Status Monitor 3 is not installed, you have to make settings manually in the printer driver. Click the Update the Printer Option Info Manually button on the Optional Settings menu, and click Settings. Then select Lower Cassette 2 from the Optional Paper Sources list on the Optional Settings dialog box and click OK.

Removing the 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3

To remove the optional 500-Sheet Universal Paper Cassette Unit A3, perform the installation procedure in reverse.
