Installing Software

Installing EpsonNet WinAssist/MacAssist

Follow the steps below to install the configuration utility software, EpsonNet WinAssist or EpsonNet MacAssist to configure the Internal Print Server for your network.

Note:
Before installing EpsonNet WinAssist, be sure to install any necessary protocols and services such as TCP/IP or NetBEUI. EpsonNet WinAssist may not open if you add or delete the protocols after installing EpsonNet WinAssist. If this happens, uninstall EpsonNet WinAssist and then reinstall it. See Uninstalling EpsonNet WinAssist for instructions.

Windows

Insert the software CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.

The EPSON Installation Program screen opens automatically.

If the EPSON Installation Program screen does not appear automatically, click Start and Run (Windows 98/95/2000/NT 4.0); or choose Run from the File menu in the Program Manager (Windows NT 3.51). Then, enter D:\EPSETUP.EXE and click OK (substitute the appropriate drive letter if necessary).

Double-click Install EpsonNet WinAssist; or select Install EpsonNet WinAssist and then click the arrow at the top right.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.

To start EpsonNet WinAssist, click Start, point to Programs and EpsonNet WinAssist, then click EpsonNet WinAssist (Windows 98/95/2000/NT 4.0); or double-click the EpsonNet WinAssist icon in the EpsonNet WinAssist window (NT 3.51).

Note:
  • To configure the Internal Print Server for NetWare using EpsonNet WinAssist, you must log in to the NetWare server.
  • If you do not use the Internal Print Server in a NetWare environment, select Disable on the NetWare configuration page in the EpsonNet WebAssist; otherwise, you might be charged for the extra line connection when you use a dial-up connection.

Macintosh

Insert the software CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive.

The disk icon opens automatically. If the disk icon does not open automatically, double-click the disk icon. Then, double-click the EpsonNet MacAssist folder.

Drag the EpsonNet MacAssist icon to your hard disk.

To start EpsonNet MacAssist, double-click the EpsonNet MacAssist icon on your hard disk.
