A dial-up connection dialog box appears when printing with TCP/IP via EpsonNet Direct Print. | |
Cause | What to do |
You have selected a phone line or modem (for Internet Explorer 4.0x) for the Internet connection. |
Printing will complete normally after you cancel this dialog box, but the message appears every time you print. Connect to the Internet using a local area network or start a dial-up network manually. |
A communication error message appears when you start printing or when you open the printer's properties. | |
Cause | What to do |
When you print with NetBEUI or IPP, EPSON Status Monitor cannot be used. |
Open the printer's properties and click the Optional Settings tab. Select the Update the Printer Option Information manually radio button. Open the printer's properties and click the Utility tab. Clear the Monitor the Printing Status check box. |

Add CREATOR OWNER by clicking the Add button on the Printer Permissions dialog box, or set CREATOR OWNER to Manage Documents (default setting). |
Printers do not appear in the Chooser. | |

EtherTalk is not selected in the Network or AppleTalk Control Panel. |

Nothing prints even though clients have sent data to the printer. | |
Cause | What to do |
Clients may not be registered, or the Internal Print Server may not be logged in to the NetWare server. |
Make sure clients are registered as users of the print queue and the print server. Also, make sure the Internal Print Server is logged in to the NetWare server. |
EpsonNet WinAssist/WebAssist will not start correctly. | |

Microsoft NetWare Directory Service is installed in your computer. |
If you are using NDS service, install Novell NetWare Client service. |
It takes a long time to start EpsonNet WinAssist. | |
Cause | What to do |
Novell Client service is installed. |
Double-click Network in the Control Panel, and double-click the network adapter which does not use IPX/SPX-compatible protocol. Clear the items related to IPX to unbind IPX. |
The printers do not appear under the IPX group in the EpsonNet WinAssist dialog box. | |
Cause | What to do |
The printer is turned off. | Turn on the printer. |
The printer is not in the same segment as the computer where you installed EpsonNet WinAssist. | To search for Internal Print Servers in other segments, use the Search Options of EpsonNet WinAssist. |
You have not logged in to the target NetWare server with supervisor privileges. |
From the computer in which EpsonNet WinAssist is installed, log in to the target NetWare server with supervisor privileges. |
