Using the maintenance mode you can perform a hex dump and select the language to be displayed on the LCD.

How to enter the maintenance mode

First, confirm the printer is off. While pressing and holding the Pause button, press the Power button to turn on the printer. MAINTENANCE MODE is displayed on the LCD panel while the printer enters maintenance mode.

Items

If you select ON, the printer saves all the print jobs you have made, including test printing. If you selct OFF, the printer saves only print jobs that were sent to the printer through the printer driver.

HEX DUMP

Data received from the host computer can be printed out in hexadecimal numbers.

Follow these steps to print it out.

Load paper into the printer.

In maintenance mode, press the Item button to display HEX DUMP.

Press the Enter button.
The print data in the print buffer is printed with 16-byte hex. data in the left column, and corresponding ASCII characters in the right column.

Notes:
If the last data is less than 16 bytes, it is not printed until you press the Pause button.

LANGUAGE

You can select the language to be displayed on the LCD panel.

Follow these steps to select a suitable language.

In maintenance mode, press the Item button until LANGUAGE is displayed.

If you want to change the language, press the + or - button until a suitable language is displayed.

Press the Enter button to set the language. Confirm that the READY (or similar word in the language selected) is displayed on the LCD panel.

Note:
It takes a while until READY (or similar word in the language selected) is displayed.

UNITS

You can select the units for displaying length.

Note:
This item is available only when you choose ENGLISH in LANGUAGE.

Follow these steps to select the units.

In maintenance mode, press the Item button until UNITS is displayed.

If you want to change the units, press the + or - button until a suitable unit is displayed.

Press the Enter button to set the units.

PARA, I/F

This is for maintenance service person only.

IEEE1284.4

This is for maintenance service person only.

INTERNAL JOB CT

When ON is selected, all print jobs including Nozzle check pattern and head alignment, are recorded in the JOB HISTORY. When OFF is selected, only the print jobs that are sent through the printer driver are recorded.

AUTO NZL CHK

You can select ON to check nozzles automatically, or OFF to not check nozzles automatically.

SSCL

You can perform ultrasonic head cleaning.

Note:
This item is available only if you use UltraChrome or ColorFast ink.

MW7

MW7 is for test printing and shall only be used by a qualified service representative.

MW7 BALANCE

MW7 BALANCE is for test printing and shall only be used by a qualified service representative.

MW1 SELECT

MW1 SELECT is for test printing and shall only be used by a qualified service representative.

MW2 SELECT

MW2 SELECT is for test printing and shall only be used by a qualified service representative.

DEFAULT PANEL

You can set all setting values you made in the SelecType mode to their factory set value.

K/C/M/LC/LM/Y CARTRIDGE INFO

CARTRIDGE INFO is for maintenance service person only.

SN MENU

SN MENU is for test printing and shall only be used by a qualified service representative.
