Follow the directions in this section if you have updated your computer's operating system, want to update your printer software from a previous version, or need to uninstall the printer driver.

Updating the printer software in Windows XP and 2000

When you update the printer software in Windows XP and 2000, please be sure to uninstall the previous printer software before you install the new software. Installing over the existing printer software will result in a failure to update. To uninstall the printer software, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Windows Control Panel. The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box appears. Select EPSON Printer Software from the list and click Change/Remove. The EPSON Printer Software Uninstall dialog box will appear. Select the printer model and click OK.

Uninstalling the printer driver

For Windows

Windows Me and 98 users should turn off the printer and disconnect the USB cable. Windows XP and 2000 users must disable the printer's memory card drive before turning off the printer and unplugging the USB cable. Refer to Turning off or disconnecting the printer for instructions.

For Windows Me, 98 and 2000 users, click the Start button and select Settings, then choose Control Panel.
For Windows XP users, click Start button, then choose Control Panel.

Double-click the Add/ Remove Program icon and select EPSON Printer Software from the list. Click the Add/Remove button.

Select the Stylus Photo 915 icon and click OK.

Select OK.

Note:
  • If you are a Windows Me or 98 user, you also need to uninstall the USB printer driver. First, you must uninstall the EPSON USB printer. Follow steps 1 and 2 above, and select the EPSON USB printer device from the list. Click the Add/ Remove button and click OK when the message telling you to reboot the computer is displayed.
  • For Windows XP and 2000 users, if you want to install the driver again, make sure the printer is turned off. Then reboot the computer and connect the USB cable before inserting the printer software CD-ROM.
  • To uninstall software programs in Windows 2000, it is necessary to log on as a user with administrative privileges (a user who belongs to the Administrators group).
  • To uninstall software programs in Windows XP, it is necessary to log on with a Computer Administrator account. You cannot uninstall software programs if you log on as a Limited account user.

For Macintosh

Note:
You cannot uninstall the printer driver under Mac OS X.

Turn on your Macintosh and insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive. The EPSON printer software disk will open automatically.

If separate folders containing installer icon for several languages appear, double-click the folder for your preferred language. Double-click the Installer icon in Disk 1 folder inside Disk Package folder.

After the initial screen, click Continue.

Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu at the top left.

Click Uninstall.

Uninstalling the memory card driver in Mac OS 8.5.1, 8.6 and 9.x

Note:
  • The memory card driver is uninstalled when uninstalling the printer driver in Windows.
  • You cannot uninstall the memory card driver under Windows XP and 2000 and Mac OS X.

Turn on your Macintosh and insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive. The EPSON printer software disk will open automatically.

If separate folders containing installer icon for several languages appear, double-click the folder for your preferred language. Double-click the Installer icon in Memory Card Driver 2 folder.

Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu at the top left.

Click Uninstall.
