Follow the directions in this section if you have updated your computer's operating system, want to update your printer software from a previous version, or need to uninstall the printer driver.

Updating the printer software in Windows XP and 2000

When you update the printer software in Windows XP and 2000, please be sure to uninstall the previous printer software before you install the new software. Installing over the existing printer software will result in a failure to update. To uninstall the printer software, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon in the Windows Control Panel. The Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box appears. Select EPSON Printer Software from the list and click Change/Remove. The EPSON Printer Software Uninstall dialog box will appear. Select the printer model and click OK.

Uninstalling the printer driver

For Windows

Windows Me and 98 users should turn off the printer and disconnect the USB cable. Windows XP and 2000 users must disable the printer's memory card drive before turning off the printer and unplugging the USB cable. Refer to Turning off or disconnecting the printer for instructions.

Click the Start button and select Settings, then choose Control Panel.

Double-click the Add/ Remove Program icon and select EPSON Printer Software from the list. Click the Add/Remove button.

Select the Stylus Photo 895 icon and click OK.

Select OK.

Note:
  • If you are a Windows Me or 98 user, you also need to uninstall the USB printer driver. First, you must uninstall the EPSON USB printer. Follow steps 1 and 2 above, and select the EPSON USB printer device from the list. Click the Add/ Remove button and click OK when the message telling you to reboot the computer is displayed.
  • For Windows XP and 2000 users, if you want to install the driver again, make sure the printer is turned off. Then reboot the computer and connect the USB cable before inserting the printer software CD-ROM.

For Macintosh

Turn on your Macintosh and insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive. The EPSON printer software disk will open automatically.

Open the Printer Driver folder, open the Disk 1 folder and then double-click the Installer icon.

After the initial screen, click Continue.

Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu at the top left.

Click Uninstall.

Uninstalling Photo Print Software

Note:
  • When you want to uninstall EPSON CardMonitor, you have to uninstall EPSON PhotoStarter first, then uninstall EPSON CardMonitor.
  • When uninstalling EPSON PhotoStarter or EPSON CardMonitor, do not insert or remove a PC card from the printer's card slot.

For Windows

Click the Start button, point to Programs and choose EPSON PhotoQuicker, then choose Uninstall EPSON PhotoQuicker3.x, Uninstall EPSON PhotoStarter3.x or Uninstall EPSON CardMonitor.

When the Confirm File Deletion dialog box appears, click OK.

When a message informing you that the operation is complete, click Finish.

For Macintosh

Turn on your Macintosh and insert the software CD in the CD-ROM drive. The EPSON printer software disk will open automatically.

Double-click the EPSON PhotoQuicker3.x, EPSON PhotoStarter3.x or EPSON CardMonitor folder, then double-click the Installer icon.

Select Uninstall from the pull-down menu at the top left.

Click Uninstall.
