Product Information
Printer Parts
1. Paper support: Supports loaded paper.
2. Edge guides: Help keep the paper straight. Adjust the left edge guide to fit the width of your paper.
3. Card access lamp: Turns on and flashes when the computer is communicating with the memory card.
4. Card eject lever: Press this lever to eject a memory card (PC card adapter).
5. Memory card slot: Accepts a PC card. You may also need a PC card adapter to hold the memory card. Use a TypeII PC card adapter (5.0 mm thick).
6. Output tray: Receives the ejected paper.
7. Output tray extension: Supports ejected paper.
8. Sheet feeder: Feeds a stack of paper automatically.
9. Printer cover: Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges.
1. Ink cartridge clamps: Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges.
2. Print head: Delivers ink to the paper.
3. Adjust lever: Set to the "+" position if ink smears on your document when you use thick paper or envelopes.
4. Ink cartridge replacement button: Press this button and the print head will move to the ink cartridge replacement position. After replacing the cartridge, press the button again; the head will be charged with ink and return to the printing position.
5. Control panel: Controls various printer functions. See the next section for details.
The control panel consists of buttons and indicator lights, and gives you access to several features. Match the icons on the control panel with those in the tables below.

On when the printer is on. Flashes when printer is receiving data, printing, replacing an ink cartridge, charging ink, or cleaning the print head. |

On when the printer is out of paper. Load paper in the sheet feeder, then press the Flashes when paper is jammed. Remove all the paper from the sheet feeder, then reload the paper. If the light continues to flash, turn off the printer and gently pull all the paper out of the printer. |

 |
Flashes when the black ink cartridge is nearly empty. On when the black ink cartridge is empty. Replace the black ink cartridge (T007) or (T010). |

Flashes when the color ink cartridge is nearly empty. On when the color ink cartridge is empty. Replace the color ink cartridge (T008). |
