Printer Software Introduction

Accessing the printer software

The printer software which comes with your printer includes a printer driver and printer utilities. The printer driver lets you choose from a wide variety of settings to get the best results from your printer. The printer utilities help you check the printer and keep it in top operating condition.

Accessing the printer software

The printer software features the primary dialog boxes, settings, and utilities shown below.

Dialog Box	Driver Settings
Print	Media Type, Mode, Copies, Pages, Ink
Page Setup	Paper Size, Orientation, Rotate by 180 degrees, Double-Sided Printing, Reduce or Enlarge, Printable Area
Layout	Fit to Page, Watermark, Multi-Page, Print Order
	Utilities
Utility	EPSON Status Monitor, Nozzle Check, Head Cleaning, Print Head Alignment, Configuration (dialog box)

These dialog boxes can be accessed as described below.

Dialog Box	How to Access It
Print	Click Print on the File menu of your application or click Options in the Page Setup dialog box.
Page Setup	Click Page Setup on the File menu of your application
Layout	Click the Layout icon button in the Print dialog box
Utility	Click the Utility icon button in the Print or Page Setup dialog box

In addition, the dialog boxes below are accessed from the Print dialog box.

Dialog Box	How to Access It
Background Printing	Click the Background Printing icon button in the Print dialog box
Preview	Click the Preview icon button in the Print dialog box and then click Preview
Save File	Click the Preview icon button in the Print dialog box until the Print button changes into the Save File button and then click the Save File button.

This chapter includes descriptions of the settings and utilities that are available in these dialog boxes. Refer to the appropriate section below.

You can also get more information about the printer software by clicking the help icon in any of the dialog boxes in the printer software.

If you encounter any problems when using the printer software, refer to the EPSON Technical Support Web Site. To access the web site from the printer software CD-ROM, insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive and open the Install Printer Driver/Utility folder in the EPSON folder, and then double-click the Technical Support Web Site icon.
