Features
Your printer is the latest in EPSON's advanced line of laser printers. It emulates the Hewlett-Packard® Laser Jet4™ printer, allowing you to print using the wide variety of software programs that support HP Laser Jet printers.
The printer is easy to install and use. You simply set up the printer, connect it to your computer, and install the printer driver as described in the Setup Sheet.
The printer supports ECP (Extended Capabilities Port) mode in Microsoft® Windows® Me, 98, 95, XP, 2000 and NT® 4.0. ECP mode supports high-speed data transfer and bidirectional communication with your computer.
The printer comes with a full set of features that contributes to ease of use and consistent, high-quality output. The main features are described below.
When using the driver provided, your printer does 600-dpi printing at a speed of up to 25 pages per minute when printing on A4 paper. You'll appreciate the professional print quality produced by your printer and its quick processing speed.
The printer warms up faster than conventional printers. About 15 seconds are required from power ON to when printing can be done at normal temperature. The time depends on the printer's optional configuration. Furthermore, if printing data is received in the sleep mode, printing will be started after a warm up time of about 10 seconds.
The printer comes with a selection of 80 Laser-Jet-compatible scalable fonts, and 3 bitmap fonts in LJ4 emulation mode to provide you with the fonts you need to create professional-looking documents.
To reduce the amount of toner used in printing documents, you can print rough drafts using the Toner Save mode.
Resolution Improvement Technology (RITech) is an original EPSON printer technology that improves the appearance of printed lines, text, and graphics.
