How To / Using the Printer Software with Windows

Uninstalling the Printer Software

When you wish to reinstall or upgrade the printer driver, be sure to uninstall the current printer software beforehand.

Close all applications.

Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

Select EPSON Printer Software, and click Add/Remove.

When using the Windows XP/2000 computer, select EPSON Printer Software on the Change or Remove Programs menu, then click Change/Remove.

Click the Printer Model tab, select the EPSON AL-C900 Advanced icon then click OK.

Note:
You can uninstall only the utility for Monitored Printers of EPSON Status Monitor 3. When that utility is uninstalled, you cannot change the setting of Monitored Printers from the EPSON Status Monitor 3 utility of other printers.

Select the EPSON Status Monitor 3: Monitored Printers check box and click OK.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Note:
When "Remove the related file" appears, click Yes.

USB Device Driver

You need the USB device driver when connecting the printer to Windows 98/Me with a USB interface cable.

Follow these steps to uninstall the USB device driver.

Note:
  • Uninstall the printer driver before uninstalling the USB device driver.
  • When the USB device driver is uninstalled, you cannot access the other EPSON printers connected with USB interface cable.

Follow steps 1 through 3 of Uninstalling the Printer Software.

Select EPSON USB Printer Devices, and click Add/Remove.

Note:
  • EPSON USB Printer Devices appears only when the printer is connected to Windows Me/98 with a USB interface cable.
  • If the USB device driver is not installed correctly, EPSON USB Printer Devices may not appear. Follow these steps to run the "Epusbun.exe" file in the CD-ROM that comes with your printer.

1.

Insert the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive of your computer.

2.

Access the CD-ROM by using the software such as Windows Explorer.

3.

Double-click the Win9x folder.

4.

Double-click the Epusbun.exe icon.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
