Wi-Fi DirectThe printer has a Wi-Fi Direct function that allows you to create a wireless environment without an access point (Peer-to-Peer connection).
Note:
The following two connection methods are available.
Modes are selected automatically according to your printer network environment. For more details on using Wi-Fi Direct, click the following link. This feature is not available for all printers.
../p_body/panel/wifid/manual_01.htm Simple AP modeIf your printer is not connected to any available networks, the printer enters Simple AP mode and then connects to your device by using a device that has the Wi-Fi Direct function. In Simple AP mode, the printer acts as an access point.
When the printer is connected in Simple mode, (Wi-Fi Direct Simple AP mode icon) is displayed at the upper-left of the printer's Home screen.
The connection specifications are as follows:
Number of concurrent connections: 4
Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)
Standard: 802.11g
Note:
Wi-Fi Direct modeIf your printer is already connected to an available network, the printer enters Wi-Fi Direct mode and then connects to your device. To establish a Wi-Fi Direct connection, your device needs to be equipped with the Wi-Fi Direct function and it needs to be able to communicate with the printer.
When the printer is connected in Wi-Fi Direct mode, (the Wi-Fi Direct mode icon) is displayed at the upper-left of the printer's Home screen.
The connection specifications are as follows:

Security: WPA2-PSK (AES)
Standard: 802.11g
