Ad Hoc mode
In the Ad Hoc mode, the printer and computer wirelessly communicate directly with each other, without using an access point.

Enter the Setup mode.
|

Select Network Settings.
|
|
Select General Network Setup, and then select Yes.
|
|
Confirm the printer name. The printer name is used to access or identify the printer on the network.

Note:
The default setting is “EPSONXXXXXX” (Where “XXXXXX” is the last 6 digits of the MAC address). To change the printer name, retype the text.

Select Manual from TCP/IP Setup settings.
|
|
Assign a unique IP address and subnet mask to the printer.
|
Note:
You can assign the IP address freely.
Example IP address Printer: IP address 192.168.72.4/Subnet mask 255.255.255.0 Computer: IP address 192.168.72.3/Subnet mask 255.255.255.0
The Default Gateway is not required.

Return to the Network Settings menu.

Note:
When a memory card is inserted in the printer, a warning message may be displayed. If a message appears, check the message and then click OK.

Select Wireless LAN Setup.

Select Advanced Setup.
|
|
Select Manual Wireless LAN Setup, and then press OK.
|
|
Follow the instructions on the control panel.
|
|
Select Ad Hoc Mode.
|
|
Select Enter SSID, enter the printer SSID, and then press OK.

Note:
You can choose the wireless network SSID freely.
|
|
Select the channel of the network, then press OK.
|
|
Follow the on-screen instructions to set the security settings.
|
|
Check the network settings, and then press OK.

Making settings on the computer
Ad Hoc setup on the computer varies depending on the computer’s operating system and version. See your operating system manuals for information on constructing an Ad Hoc mode network.
