When you turn off your printer a red light inside the printer may remain on. The light stays on for a maximum of 15 minutes and then turns off automatically. This does not indicate a malfunction.

When plain papers is selected as the Paper Type setting and Normal is selected as the Print Quality setting in the printer driver, the printer prints at high speed. Try choosing Quiet Mode for quieter operation which will reduce the print speed.

For Windows, select the Quiet Mode check box in the Main or Advanced window of your printer driver.
For Mac OS X, select Print Settings in the Print dialog box of your printer driver. Then select the Quiet Mode check box in Advanced mode.
