Replacing an Ink Cartridge Before It Is Expended
For best results, use up ink cartridge within six months of opening the package.
To replace an ink cartridge before the 
ink light turns on or the status monitor notifies you that the cartridge is expended, follow the instructions in this section.

Do not open the ink cartridge package until you are ready to install it in the printer. The cartridge is vacuum packed to maintain its reliability.

Using your computer for Windows
You can view on-screen instructions for replacing an ink cartridge using the printer maintenance utilities.
If you need to replace an ink cartridge before it is expended, click the button on the Maintenance tab.

Note:|
If there is a communication problem between the printer and your computer, on-screen instructions for replacing the ink cartridge do not appear. In that case, check all connections and make sure all devices are on.

If you need to replace an ink cartridge before it is low or expended, access the Epson Printer Utility 4 dialog box.
