Printing on Envelopes

When printing on envelopes, please note the following:

You can load up to 10 envelopes at a time in the sheet feeder.

Note:

If you are going to print a large number of envelopes, first try printing one envelope to confirm that it can be printed properly. You can then print the rest of the envelopes.

The folding quality and thickness of envelopes varies widely. If the total thickness of the stack of envelopes exceeds 10 mm, press each envelope in the stack flat before loading. If print quality declines when a stack of envelopes is loaded, load one envelope at a time.

Set the adjust lever to the position.

Note:

Return the adjust lever to the standard position after printing envelopes. To avoid gaps, always return the adjust lever to the position before printing on other media.

When the adjust lever is in the position, make sure that the High Speed check box in the printer driver's Advanced dialog box is cleared. To clear this check box, you may also need to change the Print Quality setting.

Do not use envelopes that are curled or folded.

Flatten the envelope flaps before loading.

Avoid using envelopes that are too thin as they may curl during printing.

EPSON recommends the use of black ink when printing on envelopes. Should you decide to use another color of ink, set a wider margin in order to prevent ink from smearing across the bottom portion of the envelope.

The printable area specified below is recommended when printing in black ink.

A:	The minimum top margin is 3.0 mm (0.12").
B-L:	The minimum left margin is 3.0 mm (0.12").
B-R:	The minimum right margin is 3.0 mm (0.12").
C:	The minimum bottom margin is 20.0 mm (0.78").
:	You can extend the minimum bottom margin to 3 mm by selecting the Minimize Margins check box under More Options on the printer driver's Page Layout menu (Windows) or the Maximum option for Printable Area in the Page Setup dialog box (Macintosh). However, print quality may decline in the expanded area. Before printing large jobs using this setting, print a single sheet to confirm printout quality.

For Windows, select the desired Size and Type settings under Paper Options on the Main menu. Then select Landscape as the Orientation setting.

For Macintosh, select the desired Paper Size and Landscape as the Orientation setting on the Page Setup dialog box. Then select the desired Media Type on the Print dialog box.

Click OK to close the driver settings dialog box.

Print your data.

Note:

The Economy setting that is offered under Paper & Quality Options in the Advanced menu (Windows) or the Economy Custom mode and the Economy setting that is offered under Print Quality in the Advanced dialog box (Macintosh) are not enabled when printing envelopes.
