Understanding EPSON TWAIN HS Features
The Image Type list provides the following predefined settings. They can be combined with the optional pixel depth, scanning mode, de-screening, and auto exposure settings.

The Auto Exposure feature is disabled when scanning without previewing. |
An Image Type setting which produces 24-bit images with over 16 millions of colors. This setting reproduces highlight and shadow details. Use this setting to scan color photos, and display or print the images in full color.
An Image Type setting which produces 24-bit images with over 16 millions of colors. You can get relatively high contrast images with the moiré pattern removed. Use this setting to scan printed materials and display the images in full color.

An Image Type setting which produces 8-bit grayscale images with 256 levels of gray. This setting reproduces highlight and shadow details. Use this setting to scan photos and display or print the images in grayscale.
An Image Type setting which produces 8-bit grayscale images with 256 levels of gray. You can get images with the light part lighter and the dark part darker, with the moiré pattern removed. Use this setting to scan printed materials and display or print the images in grayscale.
An Image Type setting which produces black and white images without halftoning. Use this setting to scan drawings or line art illustrations.
An Image Type setting which produces black and white images with 4 x 4 dither halftoning patterns. Use this setting to scan drawings or line art.
