Do not place heavy objects on the document glass and do not press the glass with too much force.
Follow these steps to scan a large or thick document on the document glass:
If the size of a document exceeds the size of the document cover, you can remove the document cover to make it easier to align the document. Open the document cover, and then lift it straight up to remove it.
Important:
Before removing the document cover, make sure to raise it to the upright position to prevent the hinges from snapping back on the springs.
Do not force the cover off the scanner or lift the cover from in front of the cover hinge; otherwise, the cover may become damaged.
Place a large or thick document face-down on the document glass. Make sure the top corner of the document is aligned with the mark.
Close the document cover and hold it down firmly as you scan.
Note:
When scanning without the document cover, gently press down on your document to flatten it.
If your document is very thick or curled at the edges, cover the edges with paper to block external light as you scan.
