How to / Using Options

Printer Options

You can add to your printer's capabilities by installing any of the following options:

Note:

The asterisk () is a substitute for the last digit of the product number, which varies by country.

The 500-Sheet Lower Cassette Unit (C81319) fits directly beneath the printer and can hold 500 sheets of plain paper in the following sizes:

A3, A4, Ledger, Legal, B4, Letter, Government Letter

The Large Capacity Paper Unit (C81322) fits directly beneath the printer and can hold 2,500 sheets of plain paper in the following sizes:

A4, Letter

The Duplex Unit (C81318) allows you to print on both sides of a sheet of plain paper, one sheet at a time. The Duplex Unit accommodates the following paper and envelope sizes:

A3, A4, A5, B4, B5, IB5, Ledger, Legal, G-Legal, Letter, G-Letter, Executive, H-Letter

The 5-Bin Multi-Purpose Unit (C81320) can be used as a mailbox, a sorter, a multiple sorter, or a large capacity stacker. Output capacity is 500 printed sheets of plain paper in the following sizes:

A3, A4, A5, Ledger, Legal, GLG, Letter, HLT, GLT, Executive, F4

Output capacity is 20 printed sheets for labels, transparencies, letterhead, thick paper, and envelopes. These media can only be output to Bin 1. The following envelope sizes are supported:

Monarch, Commercial 10, DL, C5, C6, IB5

The 10-Bin Multi-Purpose Unit (C81321) can be used as a mailbox, a sorter, a multiple sorter, or a large capacity stacker. Output capacity is 2,000 printed sheets of plain paper in the following sizes:

A3, A4, A5, Ledger, Legal, GLG, Letter, HLT, GLT, Executive, F4

Output capacity is 20 printed sheets for labels, transparencies, letterhead, thick paper, and envelopes. These media can only be output to Bin 1. The following envelope sizes are supported:

Monarch, Commercial 10, DL, C5, C6, IB5

The Hard Disk Drive (C82377) allows you to print complex and large print jobs at high speed.

Memory modules expand your printer's memory.

The Adobe PostScript3 Kit (C83241) ROM module generates crisp PostScript output.

A variety of interface cards provide additional links between your printer and computers or networks.

Before installing an option, read the sheet packed with the option as well as the installation instructions in this section.

Note:

Remember to keep any covers and screws you remove when installing options. You may need them again when you remove the options.
