Introduction

Supported Network Protocols and Features

The Internal Print Server supports the following network protocols and features. It cannot use protocols that are not available or are not installed in your operating system.

• Novell^® NetWare^® 3.1x/4.1x/5
  Supports IPX/SPX protocols that are configured for NetWare 3.1x (Bindery mode), NetWare 4.1x/IntranetWare (both Bindery emulation and NDS™ mode), and NetWare 5™ (NDS mode, queue-based print system, and NDPS^®)

• Windows 98/95
  TCP/IP (Printing via EpsonNet Direct Print)
  NetBEUI protocol
  IPP

• Windows 2000/NT 4.0/NT 3.51
  TCP/IP (LPR) protocol
  NetBEUI protocol
  IPP (except NT 3.51)

• Macintosh
  System 7.5.x, 7.1
  Mac OS 9, 8.x, 7.6.x
  AppleTalk protocol

• OS/2 Warp 3 / 4 (OS/2 Warp Connect and OS/2 Warp Server)
  TCP/IP (lprportd)
  NetBEUI protocol

• UNIX
  Sun OS 4.1.4 or later: SPARC
  SunSoft Solaris 2.4 or later: SPARC and x86
  SCO UNIX 4.2 or later
  HP/UX 9.05 or later
  IBM AIX 3.2.5 or later and 4.1.3 or later
