Accessing the printer driver

The printer driver lets you choose from a wide variety of settings to get the best results from your printer. We recommend also installing EPSON Status Monitor 3, which is accessed through the Optional Settings tab. EPSON Status Monitor 3 lets you check the status of your printer. See Monitoring Your Printer Using EPSON Status Monitor 3 for more information.


Note:
  • Install the driver from the printer software CD-ROM.

  • When installing drivers from the Additional Drivers dialog box, EPSON Status Monitor 3 is not installed. You need to install EPSON Status Monitor 3 separately in that case.

  • You can install EPSON Status Monitor 3 from the installer located on the printer software CD-ROM noted below.

Accessing the printer driver

You can access the printer driver directly from any application, from your Windows operating system.

The printer settings made from many Windows applications override the setting made when the printer driver is accessed from the operating system, so you should access the printer driver from your application to make sure that you get the result you want.

From the application

To access the printer driver, click Print or Page Setup from the File menu. You also need to click Setup, Options, Properties, or a combination of these buttons.

Windows XP or Server 2003 users

To access the printer driver, click Start, click Printers and Faxes, then click Printers. Right-click your printer’s icon, then click Printing Preferences.

Windows Me or 98 users

To access the printer driver, click Start, point to Settings, then click Printers. Right-click your printer’s icon, then click Properties.

Windows 2000 users

To access the printer driver, click Start, point to Settings, then click Printers. Right-click your printer’s icon, then click Printing Preferences.
