Printing ProblemsCannot perform network printing
Can a network status sheet be printed?
See the printed network sheet and verify that the network settings are correct.
When using TCP/IP, can the computer and printer communicate?
Verify that a connection is established. See Ping Command.
Are the hub, LAN cable, etc. working properly on a wired LAN connection?
Verify that the printer is turned on, and that the link LED of the printer-connected hub port lights/flashes. If the link LED is off, try the following. 1. Connect to another port. 2. Connect to another hub. 3. Replace the LAN cable.
When using TCP/IP, is the IP address set correctly for your environment?
The factory setting is not available as is. To use this IP address, delete it once and reenter the same address. Change the printer’s IP address as appropriate for your environment.
Is wireless communication interrupted or disconnected?
See Network Settings - Confirm Network Settings on the printer’s control panel. If disconnected, restart the printer. For details on the control panel, see Setting up Printer LAN Using the Control Panel.
Is the printer correctly connected to the access point (wireless router, etc.)?
See Network Settings - Confirm Network Settings on the printer’s control panel to verify the Connection. If disconnected, check the following. The access point (wireless router, etc.) is turned on. The WLAN settings correspond to those on the target access point (wireless router, etc.).
Is the WEP key in the wireless settings correct?
Reset the printer to default, and reconfigure the settings using EpsonNet Setup.
Does the printer’s communication mode (Link Speed) correspond to the hub or router?
See the following table to appropriately match up the communication modes of the printer and hub/router. (The printer’s default communication mode is Auto). For the procedure on confirming/setting the communication mode of the hub/router, see the user’s guide.
Y: Enable N: Disable
The IP address changes
Is “Network Settings” - “TCP/IP Setup” set to “Auto” on the control panel?
If the setting is Auto, the IP address changes each time the printer is turned on. When using the Auto setting, determine the power-on order, or always keep the printer on. The Auto setting is available when setting the printer port with EpsonNet Print (in Windows) or Bonjour/Rendezvous printing (in Mac OS X). Printing is slow or the data end is truncated
Do the communication modes (full duplex/half duplex) of the printer and connected hub match?
The printer’s factory default communication mode Line Speed is Auto. If the hub’s communication mode is fixed, a mismatch occurs between the communication modes of the printer and hub, and the printing speed becomes extremely slow or the data end is truncated due to timeout.
Is the reception poor?
If the reception is poor in a wireless environment, make sure there are no obstacles around the printer. Move the printer to a good signal location. The signal strength can be confirmed on the printer’s control panel. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
