EpsonNet Direct Print

Setting the Printing Protocol

Follow the steps below to select the port for the printer. The printing speed will differ depending on the selection you make.

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers.

Right-click the target printer and select Properties.

Windows 98/95: Select the Details tab and click the Port Settings button. The EPSON LPR Port dialog box appears.

Windows 2000/NT 4.0: Select the Ports tab and click the Configure Port button. The EPSON LPR Port dialog box appears.

Select the settings for the port you prefer;

LPR standard printing:
Select the LPR Print check box and the Standard Print radio button. Print data is spooled into the computer before sending it to the target network printer.

LPR extension printing:
Select the LPR Print check box and the Extension Print radio button. LPR extension printing sends print data to the target network printer without spooling all the print data. LPR extension printing prints faster than LPR standard printing.

High-speed printing:
Select the High-Speed Print radio button. High-speed printing sends print data to the target network printer without spooling all the print data. This mode prints the fastest among the three modes. If the printer does not support this function, this check box is dimmed.

Notifies in the print ending:
Select this check box to display a message on the screen when printing is complete.

Click OK.
