Printer Parts

1. Paper support: Supports the paper loaded in the sheet feeder.

2. Sheet feeder: Holds blank paper and automatically feeds the paper during printing.

3. Printer cover: Covers the printing mechanism. Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges.

4. Output tray: Receives the ejected paper.

5. Output tray extension: Supports the ejected paper.

6. CD/DVD guide: Supports the CD/DVD tray.

7. USB connector: Used to connect the computer and printer using a USB cable.

8. Edge guides: Help load the paper straight. Adjust the left edge guide to fit the width of your paper.

1. USB connector: Used to connect the computer and printer together using the USB cable.

1. Control panel: Controls various printer functions. See the next section for details.

2. Cartridge cover: Hold the ink cartridges in place. Open only when installing or replacing ink cartridges.

3. Print head: Delivers ink to the paper.

Note:
Your printer has two USB connectors, one on the front and one on the back. With a USB cable, you can use them to connect a portable computer or a desktop computer to the printer. Epson recommends that you use the front-side USB connector for connecting a portable computer and the back-side USB connector for connecting a desktop computer.

Turns the printer on and off.

paper

Loads or ejects paper.

Resumes printing if pressed after a paper out error or double feed error.

Cancels printing while pressed during printing.

ink

Moves the print head to the ink cartridge replacement position or ink check position.

Returns the print head to its home position after ink cartridge replacement.

Performs print head cleaning if held down for three seconds when the ink out light is off.

Description

power

On when the printer is on.

Flashing when the printer is receiving data, printing, having an ink cartridge replaced, charging ink, or cleaning the print head.

Paper out

On under the following conditions;

Paper out:
When no paper is loaded in the printer. To resume printing, load paper in the sheet feeder and then press the paper button. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close the CD/DVD guide, load paper and then press the paper button.

Double feed error:
When the printer has loaded more than one sheet of paper at a time. To resume printing, load paper in the sheet feeder and then press the paper button. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close the CD/DVD guide, load paper and then press the paper button.

CD/DVD tray error:
When printing on CD/DVD, CD/DVD tray is not inserted in the printer. Insert the CD/DVD tray in the printer and press the paper button.

Flashing under the following conditions;

Paper jam:
Paper has jammed in the printer. Press the paper button to eject the jammed paper. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close the CD/DVD guide and press the paper button to eject the jammed paper. If the error does not clear, open the printer cover and remove all of the paper inside, including any torn pieces. Then reload the paper in the sheet feeder and press the paper button to resume printing.

CD/DVD tray jam:
CD/DVD tray is not ejected from the printer after printing on a CD/DVD. Pull out the CD/DVD tray and press the paper button.

ink out

On when an ink cartridge is empty or not installed, or the wrong ink cartridge is installed. In either case, (if the CD/DVD tray is inserted in the printer, pull out the CD/DVD tray and) replace the ink cartridge.

Flashing when the ink cartridge is nearly empty.
